Julia, 17, swapped traditional braces with wires and brackets for Invisalign®

The patient came to the Proste Zęby Clinic in May 2019, wired up and devastated. She came to Warsaw from another city, where an orthodontic practice had given her a 2.5-year treatment plan and fitted classic braces with metal brackets and a palatal arch. When this young, beautiful girl heard that she would have to wear these wires and brackets for 2.5 years, she was mentally exhausted. Ahead of Julia were her final exams, school exams, prom and university. Julia couldn’t think about anything other than how terrible she would look at all these events! Her parents looked for help. Julia’s mum found the Proste Zęby Clinic on the Internet and they came for a START-UP visit to find out whether it was possible to remove those braces and fit Invisalign®. After diagnostics and a computer scan, the parents decided to have Julia treated at our clinic. We removed the wires and brackets and removed the palatal arch. Julia was overjoyed. About a month later, in June, she received her Invisalign® aligners and a 6-month treatment plan! In December 2019, after the orthodontic treatment, prosthetic reconstruction of her underdeveloped lateral incisors was carried out, and Julia is ready to enter a New Year full of exam challenges with a new smile.

Weronika wore 31 Invisalign® aligners in the first series, followed by 18 aligners in the second series. She changed aligners every 7 days. The treatment lasted less than a year.

Our patient learned about all the advantages and disadvantages of Invisalign® and also considered other orthodontic treatment methods, including classic wires and brackets.

Weronika’s parents estimated that the cost of treatment with the classic method over 2 years of wearing braces would be comparable to the cost of Invisalign® treatment.
