Treatment of a malocclusion and chronic headaches caused by temporomandibular joint dysfunction

In her case we used the Moderate Package, which is designed for moderate malocclusions and includes 20 aligners for the upper and lower dental arches. Patients who have had traditional orthodontic treatment in the past often come to the Proste Zęby Clinic. Unfortunately, for various reasons the malocclusion comes back. One of these is a lack of retention. Retention is the last but very important stage after orthodontic treatment is completed. It must not be skipped. It allows the teeth to be stabilised in a given position. In our Patient’s case, the Invisalign® Lite package, which includes 14 aligners for the upper and lower dental arches, was enough to eliminate the problem and restore a beautiful, wide smile. Of course, we did not forget about retention. At this stage, the Patient wears clear Vivera™ aligners for a specified period. In the first period of retention they are worn for several hours during the day and at night, later only at night, and eventually as a reminder – from time to time. In the upper arch, a retention wire was bonded on the inner side to prevent the teeth from shifting. Most often the Patient wears it for life. Rest assured – the wire does not get in the way at all and can hardly be felt. Thanks to it, the problem will not come back and the beautiful smile stays for good.
